We are continuing our special offer – if you buy three books or more and live inside the European Union (as defined by UPS) we will send you an extra book free. Recently the default option on the free book has been Reggio Emilia 2007/2008 but we will change that now to GRANDMASTER BATTLE MANUAL.
But if you already have Grandmaster Battle Manual or would prefer a different free book, then send us an email with your order, asking to have it replaced with one of the following titles:
GRANDMASTER VERSUS AMATEUR
REGGIO EMILIA 2007/2008
TACTIMANIA
TRUE LIES IN CHESS
CHAMPIONS OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM
SAN LUIS 2005
ATTACKING THE SPANISH
GRANDMASTER VS AMATEUR
CUTTING EDGE 1: THE OPEN SICILIAN
CUTTING EDGE 2: SICILIAN NAJDORF 6.Be3
Any specials for us american folk? 🙂
It seems like a great offer. If you order 6 books can you get 2 free ones?
And would buying the Polgar trilogy on special offer count for a free one as the price is already reduced?
@Paul
The only problem I have with non-Europeans is that you are so far away! Posting books to the US costs us a lot (far more than we charge for postage) so adding extras to that would be really pricey. So it’s difficult for us to do much more for US readers on websales.
@Paul T
Yes, if a European buys 6, then it’s 2 freebies (sorry again, America).
For the Polgar Special Offer, I don’t think we generally add a freebie, as it’s a good discount already. For the 9-book Yusupov Special Offer, I think we have usually added one free book.
And if it sounds as though I am making this up as I go…
Fair enough, when the Polgar deal was announced it included a free book but it’s not clear if this was just a temporary Christmas present http://www.qualitychess.co.uk/blog/3415
@Paul T
All good deals are not eternal 🙂
Whats the difference between the 2 books GRANDMASTER VERSUS AMATEUR and GRANDMASTER VS AMATEUR 🙂
@chris
One way to find out: Order 6 books and take one of each as free book, and don’t forget to share your findings with us here 😉
I’m claiming it was an intentional test of your proofreading skills. You passed.
Bad strategy from the publisher, i was just thinking about using the 6 book method suggested by Tobias. .-)
But that will happen anyway, if i look at the schedule.
🙂 so no chance for that offer to be revived as a ‘summer special’ for someone who promises to buy 6 books in total 🙂 🙂 🙂
@Paul T
Sure, every chance. In fact, yes. If you order and then send an email naming the 2 freebies, it will go out tomorrow.
When will be published new publishing schedule?
Ok, just bought the 6 books. Would like the San Luis 2005 and the Reggio Emilia 2007/2008 as my free books. Look forward to getting them!
@Paul T
Got it, thanks. Our shipping people are springing into action.
There is another oldish book that I’d like that’s not on the list above. What are the chances…. fortune favouring the bold and all ??
@TonyB
It’s best to name that book and try your luck. Sometimes, even with an oldish book, it can be difficult if we don’t have many left. But maybe you will be lucky.

Is Switzerland inside the “European Union as defined by UPS”?
What will be a free book for November-December?
Good question. I will put up a blog post soon to answer it in a higher profile way. My plan is “Positional Chess Sacrifices” by Mihai Suba.
