We are continuing our special offer – if you buy three books or more and live in the normal European Union zone (as defined by UPS – for example, they exclude some islands and remote areas) we will send you an extra book free.
Please note that if you buy a Special Offer and are in the EU zone, we will add one free book. For example, the Grandmaster Preparation Special Offer is 6 hardbacks for the price of 5. So if a European buys that, we send Jacob’s 6 GM Preparation hardbacks, plus one free extra book.
The previous default option on the free book was Attacking the Spanish. For October and November we will switch the default option to CARLSEN’S ASSAULT ON THE THRONE. But if you already have that book, or would prefer a different free book, then send us an email to salesgroup@qualitychess.co.uk with your order, asking to have it replaced with one of the following titles:
CHAMPIONS OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM
GRANDMASTER BATTLE MANUAL
GRANDMASTER VERSUS AMATEUR
POSITIONAL CHESS SACRIFICES
REGGIO EMILIA 2007/2008
THE ALTERMAN GAMBIT GUIDE – WHITE GAMBITS
THE ALTERMAN GAMBIT GUIDE – BLACK GAMBITS VOLUME 1
THE ALTERMAN GAMBIT GUIDE – BLACK GAMBITS VOLUME 2

CUTTING EDGE 2: SICILIAN NAJDORF 6.Be3
These days QC seems to be very reluctant to talk about upcoming books.
Anyhow – will there be a new book out before christmas?
Yes, a few. If you have not noticed, some of us are at the Olympiad.
I’m guessing the Queen’s Indian and the Practical Chess Beauty.
If I know QC this will not include the Taimanov or Gelfand book, this will be 2019!
Queen’s Indian would be a great Christmas present. I need to finally figure out how to play against the annoying 4. g3 Aa6 5. Dc2¡
Hi, I haven`t followed the blog for months, so forgive me if the following gas been asked before too often.
1. Is the new Avrukh series with the release of 2A (gruenfeld & KID) now finished?
2. I remember that GM Roiz is recommending the Ba6 lines in his upcoming QID book. Has been additional information shared since then? Is there a release date for the QID book?
Greetings
Siddhartha
I hope in Roiz’s QID book the Petrosian System (E12) is met by 5..g6. Looking forward to this upcoming book.
James
I was wondering, is there anything new on the horizon for Nikos for 2019?
Thank you.
James
@James2
I checked this variation independently and found it to be awful
@Jacob Aagaard
Likley to be 5…d5 then….
Thanks Jacob.
James
I just had a look at Vidit vs. Roiz (QID) from Porto Carras yesterday.
Umpffff.
Maybe the Grünfeld is a good opening.
@Thomas
I’m surprised that Roiz chose 4…Bb7 after 4.g3. Maybe he saw something in Vidit’s repertoire which he liked for Black after that move; but with hindsight, I would have liked to see him test the repertoire from the book with 4…Ba6, as he has many excellent ideas there.
Would be nice to see Roïz try test repertoire in a game with line 4…Aa6 5. Dc2. That line is quite annoying.
