We are continuing our special offer – if you buy three books or more and live in the normal European Union zone (as defined by UPS – for example, they exclude some islands and remote areas) we will send you an extra book free.
Please note that if you buy a Special Offer and are in the EU zone, we will add one free book. For example, if a European buys the Special Offer on Judit Polgar’s superb trilogy, then we send Judit’s 3 books in hardback, plus one free extra book.
The previous default option on the free book was Carlsen’s Assault on the Throne. For December and January we will switch the default option to GRANDMASTER VERSUS AMATEUR. But if you already have that book, or would prefer a different free book, then send us an email to salesgroup@qualitychess.co.uk with your order, asking to have it replaced with one of the following titles:
ATTACKING THE SPANISH
CARLSEN’S ASSAULT ON THE THRONE
CHAMPIONS OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM
CUTTING EDGE 1: THE OPEN SICILIAN
CUTTING EDGE 2: SICILIAN NAJDORF 6.Be3
GRANDMASTER BATTLE MANUAL
POSITIONAL CHESS SACRIFICES
REGGIO EMILIA 2007/2008
THE ALTERMAN GAMBIT GUIDE – WHITE GAMBITS
THE ALTERMAN GAMBIT GUIDE – BLACK GAMBITS VOLUME 1

How about publishing a training book specifically for BLINDFOLD chess? Explanation, techniques, tips, excercises, etc.
That would be great.
@Mayne
We don’t have any plans for a book on blindfold chess. But Chess24 have a video series on blindfold chess by Timur Gareyev. I haven’t watched it, but Timur is certainly a big expert on this topic.
@Mayne
Sounds like a niche if ever there was one.
Just to clarify is the upcoming Najdorf book in the ‘Playing the’ series or a GM Rep?
Any news on its arrival. I wondering also how it will compare to two recent ones published. Will it recommend Scheveningen or pure Najdorf lines, like in the other two recent works. I’m kind of hoping for the Scheveningen approach (or both would be amazing) just for a bit of variety.
@The Doctor
It will be in the guide series. And we do not debate variations before printing, out of experience.
A GM guide on the Leningrad Dutch would be another great thing.
Can it be possible to put as free book option the ‘Qualitychess puzzle book’ as it was a couple of months a go?
@Lucian M
Due to our dwindling stocks and the fact that the Puzzle Book still sells a certain amount each year, the answer is no.
@Lucian M
I can recommend buying this book – it’s really good!
@Andrew Greet
Ok. You leave me no choice. I’ll buy it.
@Lucian M
Good man!
You should edit a book on the recent wcc to give it free.!
@RYV
Would that not be to overcharge?
@Jacob Aagaard
Why charge money when you can give something away for free 🙂
the recent WCC get such a ridiculous impact that i Wonder if anyone mighy be interested in such book. The games were quite good but the overall match was conter productive for chess in general. the fact that magnus kept twice the world title by winning only a single game is not very good!
Running out of free books that I’m at least slightly interested in and that I don’t have yet. 3 more orders for the Alterman books, and that’s it… Time you make a great book that just doesn’t sell so that you can add it to the list 😀
@RYV
Sorry, I don’t understand. You are asking for a free book, in which nobody would be interested? Why would someone put in their time (= money) to write such a book?
