We are continuing our free-fourth-book offer – if you buy three books or more and live in the normal European Union zone (as defined by UPS – for example, they exclude some islands and remote areas) we will send you an extra book free.
Please note that if you buy a Special Offer and are in the EU zone, we will add one free book. For example, if a European buys the Special Offer on our award-winning Grandmaster Preparation series, then we would send the 6 hardcovers, plus one free extra book.
The previous default option on the free book was The Alterman Gambit Guide – Black Gambits Volume 1. For March and April we will switch the default option to The Alterman Gambit Guide – Black Gambits Volume 2. But if you already have that book, or would prefer a different free book, then send us an email to salesgroup@qualitychess.co.uk with your order, asking to have it replaced with one of the following titles:
ATTACKING THE SPANISH
CARLSEN’S ASSAULT ON THE THRONE
CHAMPIONS OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM
CUTTING EDGE 1: THE OPEN SICILIAN
CUTTING EDGE 2: SICILIAN NAJDORF 6.Be3
GRANDMASTER BATTLE MANUAL
GRANDMASTER REPERTOIRE 7 – THE CARO-KANN (HB)
GRANDMASTER VERSUS AMATEUR
REGGIO EMILIA 2007/2008
THE ALTERMAN GAMBIT GUIDE – WHITE GAMBITS
THE ALTERMAN GAMBIT GUIDE – BLACK GAMBITS VOLUME 1
SAN LUIS 2005
Dear friends,
Which book will be published along a “Playing the Grunfeld” by Alexey Kovalchuk? I do know that you are publishing books in pairs.
Do you have estimate publication date for The Italian Renaissance book I & II, and excerpts?
Lastly one question for Jacob, or some qualified staff member.
I have all Aagaards books from the “Excelling at chess” series and “GM Preparation” series. Could you tell me which is the best order to study them?
@LE BRUIT QUI COURT
Answer to your second question was covered a long time ago.

The Grunfeld book will be published alone. Generally we try to publish in pairs, but occasionally it’s just not feasible, and this is one such occasion.
Regular readers of our blog should know by now that we will announce publication dates when we are ready to do so.
Could you please confirm that the much awaited ‘’ The King’s gambit 2.0 ‘’ written by John Shaw will be released today ?
@Pinpon
Correct! It’s a 1000-page, Luxury Dungeon Edition with a foreword by Kasparov, in which he says that if only he had this book back in 2000 he would never have lost his world title, and he now intends to use the King’s Gambit to spearhead his comeback to professional chess, once Magnus and those other cowards stop using the virus as an excuse to hide from him.
@Andrew Greet
I hope this is not an April Fool Joke:)
What about Drowning with the Reti, slow progress?
Forget about the 1000 page King’s Gambit book. Quality Chess should put everything down, and work on a 1919-page book with 19 chapters on the following openings:
Catalan
Old Indian
Vienna (or Veresov if you’d rather)
Italian
Dutch
Also proceeds go towards research for a vaccine.
Maybe 2019 pages would make more sense? 🙂
Hi QC staff,
Is the offer still valid today ?
Thanks
Hi Qualitychess
I’d like to know if the free book of the month offer still hangs on ?
Thnaks for your answer.
@zorgchess
@Laurent F
Yes, the free book of the month offer still applies to websales of 3 books or more from the EU.
I have not updated what the default option is recently, but when you order, you can email salesgroup@qualitychess.co.uk saying which free book from the list you want.
